E is for Exploring!

It seemed pretty natural to forge our way through the theme of Exploring after having spent a week in Dinosaur land. We did some really awesome crafts this week, and it started out with Mr. Tambunan's Preschool-friendly-pirate-hat. Smushy toddlers in giant hats... I just want to eat them all up!

As usual, the boys spent plenty of time creating things of their own during quiet time.

Some of the new activities this week included this awesome Lava game. We told them that the carpet was lava, and they had to use these special blocks to cross it. The toddlers were a little confused, but the preschoolers got the hang of it.

Not that it had anything to do with Exploring, but we introduced the kiddos to Golf too. We are trying everything to get those motor-skills ready for Kindergarden.

Moving from Gross to Fine Motor Skills we added this game to Rotation Time. Standing or kneeling on the chair, they had to try to get the marker into the bottle. It was a lot harder than it looks!

This little miss was Queen of the Jungle with her leaf and twig hat.

Another fun craft were these binoculars. The kids were so into them, as you can see.

These two got all grown up and played checkers with the chess board.

We even broke out the Conlkat (Mankala),

and filled balloons with playdough.

The toddlers got a little crazy with their hats, as usual.

Ah yes, the fun part! We made a treasure map of the playground and every day the children followed clues to find the next piece. We taped them all together on the wall and watched the map expand day by day. It was so fun!

On Friday they found the last piece.

The map sent us to "jump 20 time on the green square",

Crawl through the tire tunnel,

And the tire swing,

Go through the maze, over the bridge, down the slide and wait at the sand box.

They dug and dug and finally found a treasure chest!

THen they all enjoyed the booty which consisted of some fun, new building blocks and a bowling game.

It was only fair to play with it right away.

Of course we had another craft before the week was over. "E is for Exploring" Keychain... fun!

The week ended with "Y" showing "D" the kindergarden-preparation cards. So cute!

These kids are such a blessing and we look forward to seeing them every morning. I', a couple weeks behind on the blogging, sorry about that. Check back soon for Farm Week and Garden Week. We are just a day away from jumping into Hot Air Balloons, which should be a blast! We can't wait!
